Schools across the country celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday Friday and students at one South Jersey school had some special guests to help make the day of reading pur-fect.
On Friday, March 2nd, 16 therapy dogs, cats, and even rabbits with the FURever as Friends organization stopped by the Charles G. Harker School in Woolwich Township to spend Read Across America Day with the schools third through fifth graders. Organizers said these four-legged bookworms love a good book and the students were more than happy to sit down and read a story to them. "They are just thrilled to be here and I have to say the teachers are enjoying this also," Sharon Bednar, president of FURever as Friends.
